Rodeo Star Dustin Elliot Sues Alamo PokerDustin Elliott, a champion North Plate bull rider, is suing online poker website Alamo Poker for using his image for promotional purposes and then refusing to pay him. Elliott is the winner of the 2004 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association title and is a major force in the bull riding circuit. He filed a lawsuit against the poker website, seeking a payment of $20,000 from Alamo Poker. Elliott had previously entered into an agreement with Alamo Poker. In January of this year, he allowed Alamo Poker to use his likeness to promote the site for one year for the sum of $25,000. He also agreed to wear Alamo Poker's logo during the year. Elliott received an initial payment from Alamo amounting to $5,000, but received no more payment since. He then decided to terminate the contract June 30, but the poker site still continued to use his image for their promotional materials nonetheless. "We never received any value at all for what was the big reason and part of the sponsorship," a certain Jeremy from Alamo Poker, who was corresponding through e-mails, said. The lawsuit was filed by Elliott November 13 at the Lincoln County District Court. No trial date has been set as of yet. |
